The UCI Pro Tour riders once again showed a high level in the longest stage of the Vuelta.
The UCI Pro Tour cyclists had a similar performance to their World Tour colleagues in terms of the competition plan: speculation, calm process, letting go of the Continentals and national teams and controlling the exit of any rival that could be dangerous as regards results.
Nicolás Tivani, to the pride of the people from San Juan who encouraged him in the massive arrival that the stage in Jáchal had ranked as the best cyclist of the Uci Pro Tour. The man from San Juan, from Team Corretec, finished fifth in the quarter. The Italian Giacomo Nizzolo, from Israel-Premier Tech, arrived one place behind, repeating yesterday’s great performance, where he was the best Pro Tour and which leaves him fifth overall.
Peter Sagan, from Team Total Energies, one of the favourite cyclists of the local fans, was once again in the top ten, occupying ninth place upon reaching Jáchal and that same position in the general classification, after two sets.
This Tuesday, January 23, the third stage will be held, starting and finishing at the San Juan Villicum Circuit, touring the streets of Chimbas, 25 de Mayo, San Martín, Angaco and Albardón. The time of the neutralized start will be at 15:26 and ten minutes after the actual departure, to cover 170.9 km.
