It was a Sunday full of emotions in this last competition of the Vuelta a San Juan 2023, where the cyclists crowned a great week of pure cycling in the City Where it all Begins! | Photography: Vuelta a San Juan.
All that remained was for the competition to end, a race in which Miguel Ángel López was crowned the winner of the 39th Tour of San Juan 2023 – UCI Pro Series
The victory in the race was again for Samuel Welsford of Team DSM in 02:23:41 of the race in an exact 112 kilometers of route where they turned the Avenida Circunvalación ring seven times.
Subsequently, Fabio Jakobsen, representative of the Soudal Quick-Step team, entered on this last podium and closed the protagonist Giacomo Nizzolo of the Israel Premier Tech team.
Once the final award ceremony was over, the winner and the 2023 champion of this round were present at a press conference to give their final balance of this race:
Samuel Welsford (Team DSM): “I had a lot of motivation after Saturday’s win, I’m very happy about today’s win. This is a very productive process to continue looking for the best form in the season that has just begun. After my successes in track cycling, I took a lot of experience and that made the team instrumental for the two consecutive victories, which is a great honor for me.”
Miguel Ángel López (Team Medellín): “I am very happy for the victory, I am very grateful for the victory and this title to all the boys in the team for the great work they have done in this competition. In this race, I found it in the best way, there is no need to change any route, it had many stages with high-speed sprints and I really enjoyed being able to climb Alto del Colorado, I have nothing to criticize, Congratulations to all the organization!”.
