The news you were waiting for were confirmed! The beloved Remco Evenepoel (22), current road world champion,is going to be part of Vuelta a San Juan 2023, from January 22 to 29.
Our current champion (winner in 2020) will return to where it all begins! A more than special place for him becuase here, in the 2019 season, in San Juan, Remco made his professional debut as a cyclist.
Evenepoel is going to be the leader of a renewed team that will return to Argentina for the fifth time and with the mission of winning again. Soudal – Quick Step from Belgium is one of the first-class teams that will participate in the Tour.
The team’s season has been spectacular. In fact, it is the third team that achieved the most victories in the year, with a total of 47 wins. And in the UCI ranking, the Quick Step added more than ten thousand points and placed sixth in the classifier.
During 2022, the team achieved several important victories. To mention a few examples, Evenepoel won the world championship, the Tour of Spain and the Liège-Bastogne-Liège. In addition, Mark Cavendish won the Milano – Torino, Fabio Jakobsen triumphed in the Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, Rém Cavagna in the Tour of Poland or Julian Alaphilippe in the Tour de la Provence in France.
