Brilliant career of the Colombians who took the main positions in the general classification | Photography: Vuelta a San Juan
An unbeatable race for Latin American cyclists, since the glory of first place went to the Colombian “Superman” López, who took the 39th edition of the Vuelta a San Juan to his country.
Laureano Rosas was the only Latino who stood out in the breakaway carried out by four cyclists at the start of the second lap on Avenida de Circunvalación and left his mark in the sprint goals and with 30 km to go he was caught up by the peloton.
Undoubtedly, in this race, the Colombian cyclists stood out from the rest and it was the queen stage, in Altos del Colorado, that catapulted them to the first places.
The end of this edition of the Vuelta finds seven Latin Americans among the twelve best, which clearly speaks of the excellent level of our cyclists: 1st Miguel Ángel López (Colombia), 3rd Sergio (Colombia), 4th Einer Rubio (Colombia), 5th Brandon Rivera (Colombia), 6th César Paredes (Colombia), 11th Leandro Messineo (Argentina), 12th Nicolás Tivani (Argentina).
We also highlight Juan Pablo Dotti (Argentina) 14th; Vicente Rojas (Chile) 16th; Abner González (Puerto Rico) 17th; Harold Tejada (Colombia) 18th.
