A few meters from leaving San Juan Villicum Circuit and at the same moment that the official route for the third stage was given, five cyclists decided to attempt a breakaway, tested the environment and found no resistance so Mauricio Domínguez (AV Fátima – San Juan Biker – Electro 3), Manuel Lira (Chile National Team), Emiliano Contreras (Chimbas Te Quiero), José Luis Rodríguez (Chile National Team) and Marcelo Méndez (Rawson City Hall) began gain meters in their favor still rolling on land albardoneras

A few kilometers later, Lucas Dundic (Argentine National Team), Víctor Ocampo (Medellín team), Daniel Juárez (AV Fátima – San Juan Biker – Electro 3) and Pedro Gordillo (Rawson City Hall) also broke away from the peloton and went hunting for the leaders, who in turn lost two cyclists who took refuge in the second group, which, after 50 km, would join the leading group and from then on there would be eight who would lead the way. Only Víctor Ocampo losing speed, while the majority of the peloton was five minutes apart.

The first emotion occurred in front of Cerrillo, with the only Mountain goal of the stage, which was left in the hands of Emiliano Contreras from San Juan, while the peloton reduced distances in time to 3m30s and the Chilean Lira stayed. Then would come the two Sprints won by Daniel Juárez, who went on to lead the general of bonus sprint.

Different alternatives were given, where -little by little- different cyclists were losing the front wheel until only three remained, who would be neutralized with 38 km to go.

In the end, highlighting the tenth place achieved in the third stage by Juan Pablo Dotti, from SEP San Juan.

The fourth stage will join the San Juan Villicum Circuit with the Barreal square, visiting the Vuelta for the first time, the Calingasta department, covering 196.5 kilometers. The real start time will be at 14:46. This stage will have three Mountain mints and two Flyers.
