At the gala presentation, authorities confirmed the attendance of well-recognized riders to Vuelta 2022. The preliminary list includes 6 high-level competitors… Can you imagine who are them?

We were anxious to reveal this news that thousands of fans were waiting for. We now have the first cycling stars confirmed for Vuelta a San Juan 2022!

The competition organization confirmed the names at today’s presentation, held at the incredible Teatro del Bicentenario. This is a popular place for fans, as many stages have started or finished here or nearby.

What’s important is that now we do have the list of the six first riders who’ll race in San Juan. But this is the second announcement, as the first one was Peter Sagan’s presence. The three times world champion, special guest at the gala presentation, will join in a bike tour this Sunday in La Boca, Capital Federal. Have you already registered?

Another athlete that will come back to San Juan is a friendly cyclist with a bright future ahead. Our current champion! The beloved Remco Evenepoel will lead the Belgian Deceuninck – Quick Step. His bond with our province is more than special because he professionally debuted with the Belgian squad in 2019, and he has already won one of the four international editions. We’re waiting for you, Remco!

If we talk about Italian riders, we can’t leave out this amazing duo: Filippo Ganna and Elia Viviani are coming to San Juan! The Italian champions will be back at Vuelta, where everything begins. Ganna has raced three editions (in 2017 and 2018 with the UAE-Team Emirates and in 2020 with the Italian National team) and Viviani raced in 2017 with the Italian National team Azzurra, and he delighted San Juan audience.

The fifth star of this preliminary list is a Latin American referent. He’s an Olympic cyclist. Do you already know who are we talking about? The great Richard Carapaz will come to Argentina! This will be his return to San Juan, as he previously raced for the Spanish Movistar Team.

This is the main dish of the list… Vuelta a San Juan will welcome a top and world recognized athlete. He belongs to a select group of cyclists who won at least one edition of the Grand Tours. It’s Chris Froome! The Israel Start-Up’s leader will visit Argentina to win the competition.

This is the first round of stars. We’re so glad that you know now! Let’s cross out the days for the first stage to begin and enjoy Vuelta a San Juan!
